Curriculum Vitae
After receiving voice and piano lessons from Brigitte Groß-Feldmann and Reinhold Feldmann, Fulda born soprano Christina Rümann studied with Prof. Mechthild Georg at Hochschule für Musik Köln.
Following her degree in 2002, she attended a masterclass given by Sona Ghazarian and postgraduate studies with focus on concert singing. Between then and today, her vocal mentors were Anna Reynolds, Kurt Widmer, Christiane Hossfeld and presently Cheryl Studer.
From 2000 to 2004 she was a member of Junge Kammeroper Köln where her roles included Rosalinde (DIE FLEDERMAUS) and Fiordiligi (COSI FAN TUTTE). During 2004 through 2006, Ms Rümann belonged to the ensemble at Theater Erfurt, where she sang Königin (DAS GEHEIME KÖNIGREICH), Königin der Nacht (DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE), Sophie (DER ROSENKAVALIER) and first flower girl (PARZIVAL). In the course of guest performan-ces as Queen of the Night she appeared with Staatstheater Cottbus, Theater Erfurt, Staatsoper Hannover and Schwerin Opera Festival.
In the 2008/2009 season Ms Rümann joined the ensemble at Theater Dortmund, where she performed as Donna Anna (DON GIOVANNI), Ida (DER JUNGE LORD), Rosalinde, Cleopatra (GIULIO CESARE), Nella (GIANNI SCHICCHI), Lucia (LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR), Alice Ford (FALLSTAFF) and Queen of the Night. Later guest appearances in that role included the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, Staatstheater Mainz, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Opera Zuid (Maastricht), Theater Magdeburg, Aachen and Kiel, Landestheater Salzburg and Opera Halle.
Ms Rümann received scholarships from Richard Wagner Foundation (1999), DAAD (2002) and Deutsche Musikrat (2003) and is a laureate of the International Dichler Competition. As a concert singer, Ms Rümann fosters a versatile repertoire and has stood out in performances of Mozart's MASS IN C-MINOR and DAVIDE PENITENTE, Händel's SAUL and Orff's CARMINA BURANA
